Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) is expanding its business beyond social media by launching a paid Truth API that provides institutional investors with ultra-fast, machine-readable access to posts published on Truth Social, including updates from US President Donald Trump.
The new service is designed for high-frequency trading (HFT) firms, quantitative funds, and algorithmic traders that rely on low-latency information to react to market-moving events in real time.
API targets institutional trading firms
According to Trump Media, the Truth API will become available to institutional customers on August 1, 2026.
The service will provide licensed, real-time access to posts from some of the platform’s most influential accounts, allowing trading systems to automatically process new content within milliseconds of publication.
Unlike traditional social media monitoring tools, the API is specifically built to deliver a low-latency data feed that can be integrated directly into automated trading strategies.
Monetizing market-moving information
Trump Media says the launch is part of its broader strategy to generate recurring revenue by commercializing proprietary platform data.
Interim CEO Kevin McGurn said financial markets increasingly react to statements published on Truth Social, making fast access to that information valuable for professional investors.
The company believes the API creates a high-margin subscription business while giving institutional clients a licensed alternative to third-party data collection.
Trump’s posts frequently influence markets
Posts published by President Donald Trump have repeatedly influenced financial markets, cryptocurrencies, commodities, and geopolitical sentiment.
Recent examples include messages related to US foreign policy and the conflict involving Iran, which triggered noticeable reactions across multiple asset classes.
Other high-profile accounts available through the API are expected to include Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and FBI Director Kash Patel, whose posts may also attract institutional attention.
Cracking down on data scraping
Trump Media also said the API is intended to reduce unauthorized scraping of Truth Social content.
According to the company, several firms have previously collected platform data without permission, violating Truth Social’s terms of service.
By offering an official enterprise-grade data feed, Trump Media aims to encourage financial firms to purchase licensed access while making unauthorized data collection more difficult through stricter enforcement measures.
Social media becomes financial infrastructure
The launch highlights the growing role of social media as a source of real-time market intelligence.
As algorithmic trading increasingly incorporates news, political statements, and social media activity into investment models, platforms are recognizing the commercial value of their proprietary data.
With the Truth API, Trump Media is positioning Truth Social not only as a social network but also as a premium financial data provider serving institutional trading firms that compete on speed and information access.
