Bitcoin ETFs Add $189M as August Inflows Near $1 Billion

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $189.3 million in net inflows on Tuesday, pushing their total August inflows to approximately $951 million as institutional demand recovered following a brief period of outflows.U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded $189.3 million in net inflows on Tuesday, pushing their total August inflows to approximately $951 million as institutional demand recovered following a brief period of outflows.

The latest inflows followed $297.6 million on Monday, bringing the two-day total to roughly $487 million. That represents more than half of the Bitcoin ETFs’ net inflows for August so far, according to SoSoValue data.

BlackRock Leads ETF Inflows

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) attracted the largest share of Tuesday’s inflows, recording approximately $143.6 million.

Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) followed with around $23.9 million in new capital.

The renewed demand came after three consecutive trading sessions of net outflows between Aug. 12 and Aug. 14, during which U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs collectively lost approximately $250 million.

The reversal suggests that institutional demand remains active despite recent volatility in the broader cryptocurrency market.

Bitcoin ETF Assets Approach $80 Billion

Since the launch of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, cumulative net inflows have reached approximately $52.28 billion.

Total net assets across the products stood at roughly $79.3 billion, highlighting the scale of institutional exposure that has developed around Bitcoin through regulated investment vehicles.

The continued inflows also reinforce the importance of ETF demand in Bitcoin’s current market structure, particularly as traditional investors increasingly gain exposure to the asset through regulated products rather than directly holding cryptocurrency.

Ether ETFs Also See Fresh Demand

Bitcoin was not the only major cryptocurrency benefiting from renewed ETF demand.

U.S. spot Ether ETFs recorded approximately $71.5 million in net inflows on Tuesday, taking their total August inflows to around $345 million.

The inflows indicate that institutional interest is extending beyond Bitcoin, although Ether ETF demand remains significantly smaller than the capital flowing into Bitcoin products.

Bitcoin and Ether Prices

At the time of reporting, Bitcoin was trading around $64,234, while Ether was priced near $1,914.

The recent ETF inflows could provide an important source of support for the market if the trend continues. However, sustained demand will be needed to determine whether the latest two-day rebound represents a temporary recovery or the beginning of a broader shift in institutional positioning.

For now, the key development is clear: nearly $1 billion has flowed into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs during August, with more than half of that total arriving in just the past two trading sessions.
